Aidan Edward Taylor

Aidan Edward Taylor was born February 24, 2003 in Houston, TX to Natalie Anne Platteter (Strauss) and Adam Edward Taylor. He graduated from Cypress Ranch High School in May 2021 and attended Lone Star College where he was pursuing a degree in business administration. Aidan suddenly passed away March 8, 2023. He was only 20. He is survived by his parents, his step-father Scott Platteter, his step-mother Jena Taylor, sisters Madeline and Emma, and brothers Max, Jacob and Zachary, as well as an abundance of loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Aidan had a heart of gold and a charming and disarming smile. He was an enduring, faithful and supportive son, brother and friend. He loved music, video games, Legos, Nerf gun wars, burritos, pies and his family and friends. Aidan lovingly spent time with his three little brothers, wrestling or passing on his mastery of the Xbox. He was fabulous at Gin Rummy (beating his card shark of a sister every time!) and was a fantastic artist and creative writer. Most of all, Aidan was an incredible and empathetic listener and protective and adoring big brother. Aidan was a smart and dedicated student and an incredibly hard worker. When he turned 16, he started working at Chick-fil-A and was recently promoted to Assistant Manager. He was so proud. It was always a joy for family, neighbors and friends to drop in on him at work, see that smile, and hear him say “My Pleasure!” In lieu of flowers, you may choose to donate to a GoFundMe account we created in Aidan’s honor. Aidan’s family will be present to receive friends for visitation Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Dettling Funeral Home, 14094 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079. A service celebrating Aidan’s life will be held Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079. A reception will follow services on the church campus.
