Arthur Brock Lessard Conde

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our most beloved Arthur Brock Lessard Conde who left us on May 15, 2024, at the age of 27. Arthur Brock Lessard Conde, lovingly called Brock by all, was born on May 13, 1997, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston, Texas, to Kim (née Lessard) and Dr. Allan Conde. He lived with his parents and two sisters, Renee and Anabelle, in Houston where he attended Wolfe Elementary, Memorial Parkway Junior High, and graduated with Honors in 2015 from James E. Taylor High School where he served as class vice president. Brock was a lifelong learner with extensive knowledge of politics, history, the military, cars, technology, and spirituality. He was everyone’s go-to brainiac for knowledge about anything and everything. He was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and was wheelchair-bound since age seven, but he made the most of his abilities and enjoyed life to the fullest. His hobbies included playing power wheelchair soccer in tournaments all around the city, video games, making and editing videos, debating politics with anyone, going on walks with his family and dogs, and managing the startup Mag Swipes with his dad. One of his begrudgingly favorite memories was attending Camp For All every summer growing up where he made many friends and learned many skills such as playing poker. He loved to travel across the U.S. and Canada in his van. His last trip this past April was to view the total eclipse on a farm in central Texas on a clear sunny day. He proclaimed it was one of the best experiences he had ever had. Brock is survived by his parents, Allan and Kim; his sisters, Renee and Anabelle; his cousins, Joshua and Cristian Im, William and Daniel Martinez, Josee, Martin, Jr., and Daniel Lessard, and Sheena Maltby; numerous aunts and uncles; and his beloved dogs Reagan and Maya. He is preceded death by his grandparents, Yvon and Sonia Lessard and Arthur and Violeta Conde. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Brock’s incredible nurses, Betty Obaseki and the late Sandra Tankersley, and the exceptional care teams at Texas Children’s and Baylor College of Medicine. A visitation and vigil service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Texas Children’s Heart Center. Brock’s memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
