In Loving Memory of David Gene Heimann October 10, 1946 – May 10, 2025 David Gene Heimann, beloved father, son, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at the age of 78 in Houston. Born on October 10, 1946, in Wharton, TX, to Tomie and Annie Heimann, David lived a life rooted in love, laughter, and loyalty. David was a devoted father to his three children—Christopher Heimann, Jennifer Sowell, and Lauren Patterson—who were the pride and joy of his life. He led by example, showing his children the values of hard work, kindness, and unwavering support. His legacy lives on in them, and in the countless lives he touched with his warmth and wisdom. We find peace in knowing that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior. A lifelong fan of the Houston Astros, David rarely missed a game on tv and cheered his team on through every win and loss. Whether it was baseball, a backyard barbecue, or a simple afternoon walk with his beloved dog, Murphy, David found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. Those who knew David will remember his easy smile, sharp wit, and generous spirit. He had a gift for making people feel at home, and his presence brought comfort and strength to many. He is survived by his children; his sisters: Pat Hackworth, Annette Osina and Dodie Srubar; 8 grandchildren: Margot Heimann, Thomas Heimann, Hayes Sowell, Cameron Sowell, Coe Sowell, Banks Sowell, Kendall Patterson, Bennett Patterson; and many friends who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his loving parents: Tomie and Annie Heimann; and his brother: Lonnie Heimann. A memorial service will be held on June 6th to celebrate David’s life, where stories will be shared, laughter encouraged, and the Astros cap he wore so proudly will rest nearby. In honor of David, his family asks that you take a moment to enjoy a ballgame, pet a dog, and tell someone you love them. Rest easy, Dave. You will always be remembered. 1 Corinthians 15:55–57 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. In David's honor Goode Co. BBQ will be served starting at 5PM.
