Evan Thomas Goodearle

Evan Thomas Goodearle 1998-2024 Evan Thomas Goodearle, 26 of Houston, a brave and loyal child of God, passed away February 25, 2024. Although we will forever hear his voice and laughter, we will greatly miss his presence in our lives. Evan was born January 2, 1998, in Houston, Texas to Harold Goodearle and Melissa Hardy Goodearle. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Goodearle, his grandparents Mary Goodearle, James Roy Goodearle, William Hardy and Toni Hardy. He is survived by his mother Melissa and sister Hannah Goodearle. He was also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Evan grew up in Houston and attended Stratford High School and the University of Oklahoma. In high school Evan was involved in Young Life, Student Council, and was an active member of MDUMC Youth. He was also a proud member of the 2015 District Champion Stratford football team and the 2016 Houston City Champs Stratford Lacrosse Team. After graduating in the class of 2016, Evan went on to attend the University of Oklahoma. Evan was a proud brother of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and where he was asked to be a part of the rush team. In Houston, Evan worked as an account executive for an international logistics firm. Evan was a sports fanatic, especially devoted to his beloved Astros, Rockets, Texans and Sooners. Growing up, Evan was a member of numerous baseball, football and basketball teams and always believed that each one would win a championship. Evan loved playing golf, attending concerts and any activity that involved spending time with his friends. He was a playful and loving child and grew to be a playful and loving adult. He was a gentle giant with an ever-present smile. He was a kind, loyal, sensitive, and caring friend to everyone. He loved making his friends laugh and always wanted to hear what was on his friend’s hearts. When Evan made friends, they were friends for life. He loved his sister, Hannah and considered her to be one of his best friends. He was also a loving son and proud mama’s boy. Evan never met a couch he couldn’t nap on or a Whataburger he couldn’t enjoy. Evan loved animals, specifically his faithful cats, Star and Whatakitty, who preceded him in death. There are no words to say how dearly he will be missed or how deeply he is loved, but we will forever celebrate the life that he lived and the smiles he gave us. The Memorial Service celebrating Evan’s life will be held Friday March 1, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church 12955 Memorial Dr. Houston, TX 77079 with reception to follow on church grounds.
