Sheryl Renee Strong

Sheryl Renee Strong, age 54, went to heaven to be with her Lord and her Mom on Sunday, July 2, 2023. Born February 15, 1969 and raised in Houston, she also spent time in Austin, TX with her parents and friends. She was born to Beverly Elaine and James Frederick Strong Jr. She is a proud graduate of Briarwood High School in Houston, TX. She had a long career as a hair dresser and would frequently take her mobile salon to friends and family. Sheryl delighted in showering others with gifts, many that were handmade. She was constantly surprising others with her thoughtfulness. She enjoyed caring for people and expressing God’s love to those in need, whether that be driving hours to care for a sick friend, showing up with a car full of décor for a recently divorced friends house, or leaving encouraging messages for people who needed to hear them. She never left a friend without saying “I love you”. She prayed constantly for those she cared for and loved. She spent her life building others up, just as her mother did. Sheryl accepted everyone as they were and never judged others. “We are all God’s children” was something she said almost daily. She had a laugh that could be heard a block away. She loved animals and was called “the animal whisperer” by her friends. She had a deep faith that all who knew her watched her live out. She did not have kids of her own but she loved her nephews and niece – Jacob, Will and Sophie as if they were hers, taking pride in everything they did and always loving them unconditionally. She faced her cancer bravely and without complaint. She knew she was in God’s hands from the beginning. She will be remembered for her huge heart, her kindness and thoughtfulness and her love for all of us will stay with us the rest of our lives. Sheryl is survived by her beloved father, James Strong, brother Paul and his wife Debbie Strong, nephews and niece, Jacob, Will, Sophie Strong and step niece and nephews, Kendall, Zachary and Bennett Wipff; Aunt Marita Wagner, cousins Bobby Baugh, Bill Baugh and husband Robert Blanchfield, cousins Angie Sawyer, Scott Wagner and his wife Erin.
