Thomas Ainsworth Disinger

Thomas Ainsworth Disinger, 70, passed away on November 6, 2012 in Methodist Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Tom was born on April 12, 1942 in Batavia, New York. Tom is preceded in death by his parents Calvin and Helen Disinger of Attica, New York where he grew up. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Pearllu, daughter Leslie Green, son in law Greg Green, grandsons, Brooks, Cooper, and Palmer. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Robert (Eileen) Disinger of Mt. Airy, Maryland; his sister Marian (Tod) Huffman of Jamestown, New York; brother in law Ted (Doris)Brumble of Tyler, Texas, and nieces and nephews, Jim (Sandra) Disinger, Jeff Disinger, Beth Huffman, Emily Huffman, Lindy (Larry) Decker, Cheri (Steven) Nesmith and several great nieces and nephews. Tom graduated from Texas A&M University in 1964 with a Bachelor’s degree and in 1965 with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He moved to Houston, Texas where he met P’L, the love of his life. Tom worked for many years in computer software sales with Tymshare, where he made lifelong friends. He also worked as a certified drug and alcohol abuse counselor, and for the past 20+ years, in health insurance sales with his business partner and dear friend, Bob Harris. During his life, Tom served in the U.S. Marine Corps, as well as being a Thirty-Second degree Mason. Tom was very involved with Memorial Drive United Methodist Church and the Good News Sunday School class. His great interests were the Houston Astros, NASCAR, and a passion for automobiles, and most of all, any and all activities with his three precious grandsons. Tom will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He had an amazing way with people, a fantastic, quick, sense of humor, great compassion, had a way with words and writing, and he loved to read. Memorial services will be held at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church at 1:30 on Friday, November 9th. A reception will follow in the Friendship Court of MDUMC.
