November 21, 1965 - July 1, 2017
Cynthia Ann Seidl Hallmark, 51, of Katy, Texas passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017. Cynthia was born November 21, 1965 in East Orange, New Jersey to William and Theresa Seidl. She is survived by her parents; her husband of 28 years, Brent Hallmark; her sister Victoria Seidl Dewey; her nieces and nephews Christopher Dewey, Devon Norvell-Auvil, Alexis Dewey, David Norvell, Zorn Whip, and Lauren Kirkland as well as numerous extended family and dear friends. Cynthia grew up in the Livingston, New Jersey area and, as a young girl, travelled briefly with her family in Europe. Cynthia and her family settled in Houston where she graduated from Cypress Creek High School and attended Stephen F. Austin University before beginning her administrative career in the Oil and Gas industry. She worked for such prestigious firms as BP, BHP Billiton, and Halliburton. Cynthia was a 17 year volunteer of the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo’s Ladies Go Texan Committee where she enjoyed working with children coming out to the rodeo. She and her husband Brent were long-time parishioners’ of St. John Vianney Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. Cynthia was a positive, energetic person who always saw the good in all of us. She was appreciative of the beauty that God gave us. Her husband acclaimed that Cynthia’s most outstanding quality was that she could see the good and beauty in everyone she ever met, even when they couldn’t see it in themselves. She loved all animals especially horses, to which she was an excellent competitive equestrian rider, & her beloved pet dachshunds. She loved attending all sporting events & being with her friends in the St. John Vianney Catholic community as well as those at St. Faustina Catholic Church. Most of all she was an absolutely devoted wife to Brent, and a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many of us. She was deeply loved by those who knew her and will be greatly missed. The Hallmark family will be present to receive friends Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 PM at Dettling Funeral Home, 14094 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079.
