He was born in Sweetwater, Texas, on June 8, 1955. He moved to Houston with his family in 1970 and graduated from Memorial High School in 1973. After graduation, Gary joined the U.S. Navy with a desire to serve his beloved country. Gary went to work for Xerox Corporation in November, 1979 and continued with them until the day of his death – over 40 years. Gary set a fine example and standard for all who knew him to follow as a husband, son, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and volunteer of service to others. He was a treasured member of Wagon 13, The Desperados of the Salt Grass Trail Association for 32 years. Gary was also a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, serving on the Breeders Greeters and Lifetime Committeeman committees. He served as an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 993. Survivors include his mother Mary Odom Feagan of Waxahachie; wife of 29 years, Tricia Avis Feagan; daughter Brooke Feagan Kenjura and husband Derrick of Brenham; Kristine Feagan Vanderburg and husband Ward of Sealy; Matthew Avis Feagan; and Elizabeth Shirley “Bizzy” Feagan; sister Sheri Feagan McNally and husband Michael of Bigelow, Arkansas; sister Terri Feagan Shumaker and husband Alan of Waxahachie; three grandsons: Parker and Murphy Vanderburg and Barrett Kenjura; two nieces and two nephews. Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, Gary’s funeral will be private. A graveside service for all who wish to attend will be Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Fulshear Cemetery, 7420 Wallis Street, Fulshear, Texas 77441 with Military Honors. Masks and social distancing will be required. A public celebration of life will be held at Memorial Drive United Methodist at a later date to honor Gary, please check back for service details.
