She was the second of 5 children. Kathleen left Ireland at 17 for Leeds England, to pursue her nursing degree. She started her nursing journey at Carrickfergus general. Where she met her future husband, Captain James Hunter. They quickly started a family and had five children, they moved their family to America in 1977. Kathleen had love of fitness and health, she volunteered at Texas Children’s cancer ward. She gave tirelessly of herself to causes that were near and dear to her heart. She is Predeceased by Captain James Hunter and her son Michael “Jim” Hunter. She is survived by, Jayne Radke (Kim), Siobhan Whitson, (Jason) Aishling Dumas, and (Don) Herbie Hunter (Jayne), and grandchildren Natalie Conway, Reilly Radke, Ronan McDonnell, Jack Whitson, James and Sean Smyth-Hunter, Alex, Joe, Julia Dumas. Charles and Ethan Hunter and great-grandchild Virginia Conway And her loving family in her hometown of Dundalk, Ireland. She died peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones. The Hunter family will be present to receive friends Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Dettling Funeral Home, 14094 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77079. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 29, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, Texas 77079. Kathleen will be laid to rest in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery following Holy Mass at 1:00 PM.
