Lori Harris Dyer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lori Lee Harris Dyer (aka: Aunt Lordey) passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022. Lori was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer on May 7th. Lori was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt, and will be dearly missed by all. Lori was born on September 3, 1954, in Dallas, Texas to Harold L. Harris and Mary W. Randolf. The family moved to Houston in 1969 where she graduated from Westchester High School in 1972. She attended San Marcos State University for a year before starting her career as an administrative assistant at various companies. Lori retired from Exxon Mobil in 2015. Lori devoted her time in retirement to her passions of baking, gardening, and spending time with family and her fur babies. She was also an avid Astros fan. Lori's main passion in life was baking. She learned to bake from her grandmother Mamaw and great-aunt Nana in childhood. She carried on this tradition throughout her life. Lori completed her pastry chef certification in 2014.This passion lead her to enter her family-famous buttermilk pecan pie in the State Fair of Texas pie competition, where she won 2nd place! It was one of the proudest moments in her life Needless to say her talent for baking will be missed. Lori is survived by her father Harold Harris and step mother Linda Harris, sister Lisa Barrett, brother Brian Harris, nephew Nicholaus Barrett and niece Hannah Harris and many other family members. At Lori's request there will not be a funeral. The family will have a private celebration of life per Lori's wishes.
