Marlin Keith Ross

August 12, 1948 - April 16, 2020

Marlin Keith Ross was carried on the wings of Angels to the mansions of our Lord Jesus Christ on April 15, 2020. He left us peacefully while posting on Facebook and feasting on Ritz crackers. He was born in Houston, Texas on August 12, 1948, the second son of Marlin E. Ross and Mary Sue (Nevill) Ross. Keith was a much-loved brother of Joe N. Ross, sister-in-law Rebecca Sue (Briggs) Ross and uncle to Elizabeth Clark (Ross) Hedger, and Mary Margaret Ross. Music was part of his life since he was 11 years old. His musical skills included piano, organ, clarinet, flute, harp, recorder, bells, and voice. During Middle school he began his study of the piano/organ and began his career as a musician. He played the organ for numerous religious services for Presbyterian, United Methodist, and Reformed Synagogues in Houston, Texas. After graduation from Lamar Senior High School in 1966 he attended Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana and the university of Houston completing a Bachelor of Music. For 56 years he worked as a Church Organist, Music Associate, Choir/ Bell Director, Accompanist and Music Mentor. He worked well with church groups of all ages. He was the Organist at First Presbyterian Church in Big Spring, Texas, Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, Houston, Texas and St, Andrews Presbyterian Church. Houston, Texas. Keith held the Colleague Certificate from the American Guild of Organists. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 12, 2021, at 6:00 PM at St Andrews Presbyterian Church, 5308 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, Texas 77005. In lieu of flowers please consider contributions in Keith's memory to children's musical development programs at your church or in your community.
