Merrel F. Schilling 98 passed away 11/3/21. Born in St. Louis on November 5th 1922 to George and Clotilda Schilling. Merrel attended San Jacinto High School and University of Houston where he met Marge, the love of his life in his freshman year. Proud Navy pilot in WWII. He managed divisions of U.S. Steel-New Jersey, Ohio, New York and Texas. Past president of Steel Service Institute. Merrel was preceded by his parents, son Tom and great granddaughter Addison and great grandson Robby. Brother George wife Dorothy and nephew Skip. He is survived by wife Marge, children Rick Schilling wife Jeanne, daughter Diane Schilling, David Schilling wife Trish. Grandchildren Marc Schilling, Kyle Fischer, Scott Fischer wife Christine, Magen Dixon husband Jason, Courtney Schilling, Haley Herrin husband Trey, Ricky Schilling. Great grandchildren Ashlynn, Landon, Peyton, Dylan, Faith. Also nieces and nephews. Family memorial mass 11/16/21 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Memorial service at a later date for friends and family. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Merrel’s memory to St. John Vianney Catholic Church 625 Nottingham Oaks Houston, Tx 77079.
