September 7, 1935 - December 14, 2021
Nancy, at the young age of 86, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Nancy Sirman Wade was born near Vita Manitoba, Canada on the 7th of September 1935. Nancy's parents immigrated from the Ukraine in the early 1900’s to Canada. They settled in Canada where she was the fourth of six children. Nancy had a love of travel, gardening, hosting gatherings at her home, cooking and most importantly, having her family around. When it came to family, her love for her grandchildren was endless. Nancy met her husband, Don, in Winnipeg Manitoba in 1954. They later married in Grand Forks, ND shortly thereafter with $17 dollars to their name. From there, the couple went to Omaha then on to Nashville where they had their first son, Donald. In 1959, the Wade’s moved on to Corpus Christi where Don and Nancy had their second son, Robbie in 1961. In 1963, the family moved to Houston where her husband’s job brought them. The family moved to the suburb of Sharpstown where he and Nancy remodeled an old 1945 two-story home on about 2 acres of land. Their hobby was raising chickens, show horses which the kids would show in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, they won many trophies. Nancy enjoyed traveling; whether it was a cruise, trips to California and, Canada or her favorite state, Hawaii, where she enjoyed life to the fullest. Her love of gardening provided beautiful different colored plumeria trees, a variety of lush plant life and vibrant flowers throughout her yard. Her favorite gift to give was fresh flowers from her gardens. Her green thumb proved fruitful with all the organic vegetables she grew. Nancy enjoyed cooking and used as many fresh ingredients from her gardens as possible. Family dinners were a fixture for the Wade Family. Any day of the week, when dinnertime arrived, all were welcome to join; Nancy's home, her heart, was open to everyone. She greeted everyone with a warm smile and a big hug. Whether she was making her delicious spaghetti or family favorite pecan pie, everything she did, she did with love. Won the hearts of many friends and family that came over. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Donald N. Wade; her parents Olexa and Axana Sirman; her brothers John and Fred Sirman and her sister Irene Sirman Lalois. She leaves behind her best friend and sister Victoria Belle Sirman Watson; her brother Andrew Sirman and his wife Keitha; her son Richard Chlopecki and his wife Catherine, granddaughter Tricia Chlopecki Plawicki and her husband Travis, great-granddaughters Tia, Nola and Lucia Plawicki; her granddaughter Jennifer Chlopecki MacRae and her husband Matt, great-granddaughter Grace MacRae; her son Donald J. Life is not about the final moments in one’s life. It’s about all the moments that led up to them. Nancy’s fingerprints will always be a part of all of us. She has touched us, inspired us, led us, at times lectured us all to make us who we are today. The loss of Nancy is unmeasurable, but so is the love she left behind. A loving woman, wife, mother, and Grammy who will be remembered and greatly missed by us all. May we all aspire to give our loved ones the love and care as Nancy did for her.
