Eileen Maloney Swearingen D'Agostino

Eileen Maloney Swearingen D’Agostino, our beautiful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the age of 96. Eileen was born June 2, 1915 to James and Helen Maloney in Ennis-Keane, County Cork, Ireland. She moved to Chicago at the age of two and was raised the third of six children: Mary, Jim, Peggy, John, and Ray in a loving, Catholic family. Eileen married Carl Swearingen and had three children: Don, Jim and Janice. She and Carl moved their family to Louisiana in 1949. In 1954, Carl died of a heart attack at the age of 40. Two years later she married a wonderful man, Charles D’Agostino and lived very happily until his death at the age of 58 in Jackson, Mississippi. In 1976, she moved to Kingwood, Texas to be near her daughter, Janice and her family. She has been a resident of The Woodlands, Texas since 2009, residing at The Forum. Eileen is preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Swearingen, her second husband, Charles D’Agostino, her son, Don Swearingen, her grandson, Carl Swearingen, as well as her brothers and sisters. Eileen is survived by her son Don’s children, Michael, and Don, and his wife, Nancy and their children, Kevin, Ryan, and Cara; son, Jim and his wife, Lee; grandsons, Jim and his wife, Bonnie, and Tony and his wife, Ann Logan and their children, Margaret and Rainer; daughters, Janice Lackey and her husband, Allen and their children, Shannon Estes and her husband, Jeff and their children, Josh, Kate, Ryan, and Jack, Elizabeth Lesher and her husband, Clay and their children, Allen, Luke, and James; and Kathleen Hernandez and her husband, Rene’ and their children, Sam and Andrew; many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and best friend and caregiver, Elvia Mendoza ,whose comfort and love meant the world to her. Visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening at St. Martha Catholic Church, 4301 Woodridge Parkway, Porter, Texas 77369. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Martha on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 3:00 in the afternoon with burial at Rosewood Cemetery in Humble, Texas. Eileen was blessed with years of age. Her book of life will not be closed, only turned to a brighter page. Her many years upon this earth were given by God above; and those who came to know her were showered with her love. Her life was filled with happiness, and her rewards are won. She rests with God in heaven above, with Christ, the Master’s Son.
