Genevieve Ruth "Jean" Beck

Genevieve Ruth Beck passed away peacefully in Houston on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the age of 83. Jean was born on August 14, 1941 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Her parents were John and Victoria Gracon. She is survived by her brother, John Gracon and his wife Mary Jane Gracon; her son, Charles J. Beck Jr. and his wife Jennifer, and their daughter Caroline; her son, John Beck and his wife Kimberleigh, and their children Karleigh & her husband Preston, John, David, Victoria, and Jenna; her son, Donald J. Beck and his wife Karri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jean was born and raised in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. In 1973, she moved to Houston with her husband, Chuck, and their three sons. They settled into town where they quickly made friendships that became like family. Jean worked alongside her husband Chuck in establishing the business, TSM, in 1988 and TSMDP to follow, serving as the Treasurer for the company. She had a special knack for the role from being a bank teller back home in McKeesport in her early days. Their sons later joined them in the company and worked by their side. She cherished any time presented to her to be with family, so getting to be around her boys every day brought her great joy. In her free time, she led a life full of showing her love for those around her through gift-giving and keeping family traditions alive. Further, Jean expressed her love to others through her cooking. For anyone who knew Jean, her kitchen was the heart of her home, as she found great joy in preparing dishes for those around her. Jean was a woman of great faith and commitment to the Catholic Church, schools and charities, alongside her husband, Chuck. She was first a member of St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church where she was an enthusiastic member of the Ladies’ Guild. She served as the organization’s Treasurer. She went on to later join St. Edith Stein Catholic Church where she became an active parishioner. Jean helped start the Ladies’ Guild at the parish, and she continued to serve as Treasurer until the time of her passing. Together, Jean and Chuck demonstrated their devotion to the Catholic Church through both time and generous contributions as a reflection of their support. Above all, Jean was intentional and loving—a devoted mother, “MumMum,” and friend. It was important to her to be present and involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives, never missing a special moment. She was known by her family and friends to be a giving and spirited woman with a warm, welcoming smile. She was loved by those who knew her and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions in Mrs. Beck’s memory to St. Edith Stein Catholic Church. The Beck family will be present to receive friends Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 2 PM at St. Edith Stein Catholic Church, 3111 N. Fry Rd, Katy, TX 77449 with as rosary beginning at 12:30 PM and Funeral mass begging at 2:00 PM.
