Jeanne Marie Fairly

Jeanne Marie Fairly, 79 of Pasadena, TX went to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 30, 2015. Jeanne was born August 13, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to Jennie & Frank Lattuga. She is preceded in death by her Parents and son James William Fairly. Jeanne is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James H. Fairly; brother Frank Lattuga, Jr. & wife Gloria; Children, Jeannine Fairly & partner Tammy Carroll, David Fairly, Sr., Gloria Baker, Frank Fairly & wife Jennifer, Richard Fairly; Grandchildren, Ginger Gibson, David Fairly, Jr., Katrina Fairly, Samantha Fairly, Amber Uttecht, Jacob Brown; Great Grandchildren, Samuel Fairly, Emily Fairly, Michael Gauntt, Kaitlyn Gauntt, Stephen Gauntt, Hayden Moreno, Sasha Brown, Dakota Fairly as well as numerous Nephews and Nieces. Jeanne grew up in Brooklyn, NY and after graduating High School, she met a good looking navy sailor and the love of her life, Jim Fairly while hanging out with friends at Coney Island. They married in September of 1955 in New York and they moved to Houston, TX and eventually to Pasadena; where they became loving parents to 6 children. Jeanne loved her family with all her heart. She always looked forward to spending the holidays with her children and grandchildren. During the holidays she loved cooking her famous Lasagna. In recent years, she handed down the famous recipe to her kids and she has given her stamp of approval! Jeanne was also a very devout Catholic and was an active member for 50 years at St. Augustine Catholic Church. There she served her parish in so many ministries, CCE Coordinator, member of the RCIA team, Lector, Teachers Aid, Cook & Housekeeper for the priests, leader of the weekly devotion of the Holy Rosary, served on the parish council various years, was on the building committee and tremendous supporter of the building campaign for the new church, co-chaired the parish bazaar with her husband for many years and they coordinated the main raffle booth for over 10 years. In her retirement years, Jeanne enjoyed watching some of her favorite TV shows like Law & Order SVU and NCIS. She also enjoyed weekend visits from her kids and enjoyed traveling, for Thanksgiving, to be with her family at her daughter’s home in Dallas. The family would like to offer our sincere gratitude to Jessica Flores and Cherrie Coates, who were our mother’s loving and devoted caretakers. We also would like to thank the numerous doctors and nurses at Houston Methodist Hospital. The Fairly family will be present to receive friends Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 PM at Dettling Funeral Home, 14094 Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77079. The Funeral Mass will commence Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, TX 77079. A reception will follow holy mass on the church grounds. Graveside services will follow the reception via motorized cortege in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
