Patrick Joseph Ross

Patrick Joseph Ross passed away peacefully at his home on April 7th 2025, at 64 years of age. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years Jacqueline Anne (Wilkinson) Ross. His three daughters Emma Ross, Sarah Ross and Amy Balletto, as well as his son in law Marco Balletto. He is survived by his 4 siblings Michael Ross, Arti Roots Ross, John Ross and Thomas Ross. Patrick was born June 26th, 1960 at Astoria General Hospital in Astoria, New York to John and Mary Ross, the 3rd of their 5 children. Between his siblings and all the neighborhood kids, his youth was a constant adventure of crawling through tunnels, climbing fences, and racing bikes - playing cards tucked carefully into the tire spokes to mimic the sound of an engine. He was athletic and found his stride with track and field at Centereach High School, he was also involved in the chorus and the drama department. Patrick attended The State University of New York at Buffalo where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. When he wasn’t studying he worked serving the best wings a nickel can buy and sneaking his younger brother John into the bars. He weathered the extreme Buffalo winters and spent his summers working at a mountain lake lodge in the Catskills, like Patrick Swayze except without any of the Dirty Dancing. Patrick eventually moved to California where he met his wife Jacque, they fell in love and started a family in their “happy bungalow” in Redondo Beach. He was an avid beach volleyball player and loved the sunny weather, but in 1997 the family decided to move to Houston, where he would live until his passing. Patrick was beloved by everyone he came in contact with, from work to church to neighbors, there wasn’t anyone he didn’t get along with. He worked as a Civil Engineer for 30+ years, mentoring younger engineers, and worked on major projects including the Katy Freeway expansion. He loved baseball, history, classic movies, a hazy IPA and the company of his family. Although Patrick’s final decade was colored by his battle with colon cancer, he never stopped fighting and maintained positive spirits throughout. He will be missed for his kind heart, generosity, intelligence and his deep love for his wife and children. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and integrity. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the lives he touched, and we find peace in the knowledge that he is now embraced by the God he faithfully loved and served during his time on Earth.
