Rita Esther Immaculate Rodrigues

Rita Esther Immaculate Rodrigues at the age of 85 entered into eternal rest on August 25, 2026. She passed peacefully while being surrounded by loved ones. A devout Catholic, Rita was raised with a strong upbringing of practicing the faith through the attendance of daily Mass which she continued to embrace till the very end. She instilled the importance of daily Mass and praying the Rosary with her children and grandchildren. She practiced and reminded her loved ones that forgiveness and accepting people were key elements in a relationship. Her unwavering faith guided her throughout her life and as a prayer warrior she inspired those that knew her. Rita loved spending time with family and friends. She had a wonderful way of welcoming and ministering to newcomers with her beautiful smile and her kind gestures. While in the company of her family, especially her grandchildren, she felt sheer joy and often reminded them to count their blessings and stay close to the Lord. She had a real knack for showing love by remembering to send greeting cards and make phone calls to wish people on their birthdays, be it her next door neighbor or a childhood friend or relative that lived across the world. Her love of keeping in touch with people appeared effortless. Her intentional efforts of bringing family and friends together by painstakingly cooking authentic Indian meals never went unnoticed and were always greatly appreciated. Rita is preceded in death by her loving husband and extended family. She is survived by her children and their spouses, 6 dear grandchildren, siblings, nephews, nieces, and other close relatives and friends. Funeral details are as follows: ● Visitation: Wednesday, September 2nd from 6–8 pm at Dettling Funeral Home, Houston, TX ● Rosary followed by Funeral Mass: Thursday, September 3rd at 9:30 am at St. Helen Catholic Church, Pearland, TX ● Burial: Thursday, September 3rd at 12 noon at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, Houston, TX ● Lunch and Fellowship: Fadi’s Mediterranean Grill at 12360 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX Memorial Donations In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Rita’s memory are invited to support causes that brought her great joy throughout her life.
