Shari Michael Brummel

Shari Michael Brummel, 83, of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026. Born on October 10, 1942, in Ironwood, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of Fred and Doris Cerioni. Shari spent her youth in Michigan before marrying Bruce Erickson in the early 1960s. Together, they relocated to Columbus, Ohio, where they began their family, before ultimately settling down and establishing roots in Houston, Texas. Shari will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and her profound love of giving to the community. As a passionate equestrian enthusiast early in life, she and her late brother, Dennis Cerioni, co-owned a horse farm in Houston. She became deeply involved in the local equestrian community through judging regional shows and supporting youth 4-H competitions; her specialized knowledge of carriage driving also allowed her to mentor and train others. Shari beautifully passed this love of horses down to her daughter, Tiffany, who became an accomplished dressage athlete. Later in life, Shari remarried Randy Brummel. Together, they poured their passion, dedication, and hard work into Monarch Trophy and Awards as business owners and leaders, growing it into one of the largest and most respected awards recognition companies in Texas. After their divorce, she purchased the company from Randy, becoming a highly regarded woman business owner in Houston. Through the business, Shari took immense pride in helping Houston-area businesses, schools, city governments, churches, and organizations celebrate their milestones, achievements, and victories, leaving behind a lasting legacy of recognition and excellence. Shari is survived by her loving daughters, Cyndi Geary and Christie Croft; her sons-in-law, Randall Croft, Jeff Geary, and Joey Harris; her cherished grandchildren, Madeleine Harris, Jacqueline Croft, Hayden Geary, and Noah Geary; and her precious great-grandchildren, Palmer Harris and Spencer Harris. She also leaves behind many dear friends and colleagues in the Awards Association of America who became like family over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Doris Cerioni; her brother, Dennis Cerioni; and her beloved daughter, Tiffany Stokes. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Dettling Funeral Home, located at 14094 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079.
